Project Darwin
Gene regulation workflows, evidence integration, and release-facing validation.
Darwin is CAIRN's public genomics track: a research environment built around regulatory evidence, cross-species reasoning, and experiment-facing workflows. The current release sits on top of the GRN Atlas data layer and is framed for technically serious public use, not just internal demos.
The project now spans 8 species, 100 documented research skills, and a release history that includes product framing, sequence-to-network methods, and biological plus agent-driven validation.
The detailed Darwin public surface.
The project details removed from the homepage now live here, where they are more useful in context: current scale, workflow coverage, and validation depth.
Species Coverage
Darwin currently spans 8 species, giving the release enough breadth to support cross-species regulatory reasoning rather than a single-organism demo.
Research Skill Layer
The public release documents 100 research skills across search, regulatory interpretation, expression analysis, perturbation, enrichment, and RNAi-oriented workflows.
Sequence-to-Network Benchmark
The latest methods work reports 501 atlas-backed regulatory edges in the current sequence-to-network benchmark surface.
Validation Surfaces
Darwin now exposes biological benchmarking plus deterministic and agent-driven validation, so readers can assess more than a narrative release claim.
Where Darwin is strongest right now.
The public Darwin release is strongest where regulatory evidence, workflow composition, and clear release documentation all meet. That includes network search, motif and promoter context, expression and enrichment workflows, perturbation analysis, cross-species transfer, and RNAi-oriented support.
Darwin now publishes not only workflows and methods, but the validation surfaces that make those releases easier to assess.
Darwin keeps curated and inferred evidence distinct while allowing them to be interpreted in one working environment.
The skill layer and release materials are structured around actual research tasks rather than passive browsing.
Methods posts, release posts, and validation posts all contribute to a stronger public surface.

Release Update
The August release update covers expanded species coverage, stronger workflow coverage, and the 100-skill research surface.
Repository
The public codebase, documentation, and structured skill layer that support the current Darwin release materials.
Recent Darwin public outputs.
The current Darwin public archive is no longer just release notes. It now includes methods work on sequence-to-network inference and a much more explicit validation story around biological benchmarking and external model-driven workflow checks.
Sequence-to-Network Inference
A methods-focused Darwin-adjacent post on sequence-to-target mapping, regulator ranking, and layered benchmark improvements across 501 atlas-backed regulatory edges.
Validation Update
The validation post covers biological benchmarking, expanded data surfaces, and deterministic plus agent-driven validation across the current release.
